Figured this deserved it's own thread. The original has really poor siri performance, so this is welcomed from my perspective!

> When you ask Siri something, your request is associated with a random identifier, not your Apple Account.
Does that mean people can abuse this by sending random request? Like what they do at OpenHayStack.

Is it actually any different hardware?
They're advertising is as a Siri thing, but obviously it doesn't run any AI locally. What new hardware does it need to make an HTTP request?

It uses a S10 chip, and it offloads to your Apple Intelligence-capable phone for inference. (There's a tiny "requires Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone" footnote somewhere) Basically the same way the Apple Watch has Apple Intelligence.
Honestly, just the new radios are a reason to upgrade. The S5 regularly cuts out and I have HomePod minis well within range going "no connection" for no reason.

Even my JBL Go 2 is more useful than that, then.
